Golden Knights' Victor Olofsson: Lands one-year contract
Olofsson signed a one-year, $1.075 million contract with Vegas on Tuesday, per PuckPedia.
Olofsson notched seven goals and 15 points in 51 regular-season outings for Buffalo in 2023-24 while averaging a career-low 11:34 of ice time per contest. He could bounce back in Vegas, but opportunities might be limited if he occupies a bottom-six spot in the lineup.

Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Lights lamp in return
Olofsson scored his fifth goal of the season in Wednesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Maple Leafs.
Returning to the lineup for the first time since Feb. 15, Olofsson wired a shot over Ilya Samsonov's glove on the rush in the second period. The 28-year-old winger had missed the prior nine games with an illness, but he was having trouble staying out of the press box even before that. Olofsson's suited up for only 36 games this season, mainly skating in a bottom-six role and managing just 13 points, but the Casey Mittelstadt trade to Colorado could at least open up a consistent lineup spot for Olofsson now that he's healthy.

Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Returns to practice
Olofsson (illness) is expected to rejoin the Sabres on Sunday against the Hurricanes, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports.
Olofsson had missed the Sabres' last four contests with an illness, though he was back at practice Sunday prior to a home matchup with Carolina. It's been a tough year for the 28-year-old Olofsson -- he has four goals and 12 points through 35 games while serving as a healthy scratch of late.

Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Dealing with illness
Olofsson (illness) won't accompany the Sabres on the team's upcoming two-game road trip, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.
If Olofsson sits out the next two contests, his next opportunity to rejoin the lineup would be Sunday's home matchup against Carolina. The 28-year-old forward has been a healthy scratch for the past two games, so he may not return to action once he's back to 100 percent. Olofsson has four goals, 12 points and 46 shots on net over 35 appearances this season.

Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Healthy scratch Thursday
Olofsson (illness) missed Thursday's tilt versus Ottawa as a healthy scratch, Bill Hoppe of Buffalo Hockey Beat reports.
Olofsson sat out two games with the flu, but he was well enough to play Thursday. Olofsson was a healthy scratch for a couple of games at the end of December and he has played only once in the Sabres' last six contests. Olofsson has four goals and eight assists in 31 games -- a huge regression from last season when he had 28 tallies in 75 contests.

Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Remains out
Olofsson (illness) will not rejoin the lineup against Ottawa on Thursday, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.
Olofsson continues to be unavailable for the Sabres despite the injury to Jeff Skinner (upper body). Olofsson has been skating with the team, including filling in for Skinner in a first-line role at practice. As such, once given the all-clear, Olofsson could be in contention for a spot in the top six.

Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Spotted at practice
Olofsson (illness) is practicing ahead of Tuesday's game versus the Kraken, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.
Olofsson should be an option against Seattle, but he's been a healthy scratch for three of the Sabres' last four games, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him sent to the press box for Tuesday's contest. The 28-year-old vet has collected 12 points through 31 games this season.

Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Day-to-day with illness
Olofsson didn't practice Monday because of an illness, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports.
Olofsson was a healthy scratch Saturday against Pittsburgh, so he may not play Tuesday versus Seattle even if he is fully recovered. He has supplied four goals, 12 points and 42 shots on net in 31 games this season.

Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Buries penalty shot
Olofsson scored on a penalty shot in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Predators.
Olofsson was tripped by Jeremy Lauzon on a scoring chance just over halfway through the second period. The goal was Olofsson's first in nine games, though he had a trio of two-assist efforts in that span to remain moderately productive in a bottom-six role. The winger has three goals, seven helpers, 28 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating through 19 outings this season. He'll likely remain in the lineup due to the Sabres battling a number of injuries up front, but Olofsson could be a healthy scratch when the team is closer to full strength.

Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Gets two helpers Monday
Olofsson registered two assists in a 5-1 win over the Rangers on Monday.
Olofsson earned his third multi-point game over his last four contests and his fourth over seven games. His recent hot spell is in stark contrast to his run of one assist through his first nine outings of 2023-24. Olofsson is serving in a middle-six capacity and isn't likely to be elevated beyond that role for any substantial period. That makes it a bit unlikely the 28-year-old will be able to maintain his recent offensive success long term.

Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Helps out twice in home win
Olofsson posted two assists in Friday's 3-2 win against the Penguins.
One of Olofsson's assists was the secondary helper on Jeff Skinner's power-play goal at 5:13 of the third period. Olofsson finished with a shot on goal in 14:09 of ice time across 19 shifts. After getting blanked in six games in October, he has come alive lately with two goals and six points in the past five games. He'll look to stay hot Saturday on the road against the Devils.

Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Tickles twine twice in loss
Olofsson scored his first two goals of the season in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Bruins.
The veteran winger had only one assist through his first nine games of the season while bouncing in and out of the press box, but Olofsson's offense woke up Tuesday -- after banging home a puck that caromed straight to him off the end boards late in the second period, he scored a sniper's goal in the third by taking a pass in the slot from John-Jason Peterka with his back to the Boston net, then spinning and going top shelf over Linus Ullmark in one smooth motion. Olofsson fired home a career-high 28 goals last season, and with Tage Thompson (upper body) now potentially sidelined for a lengthy period, Buffalo needs him to rediscover that form quickly.

Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Set to sit as healthy scratch
Olofsson will be a healthy scratch for Tuesday night's game versus Tampa Bay.
This news comes as a bit of a surprise following the 28-goal, 40-point performance Olofsson submitted in 2022-23, but he's struggled a bit to start the 2023-24 campaign, going scoreless while posting a minus-2 rating and just one shot on net through the first two games of the season. Tyson Jost will replace Olofsson in the lineup against the Lightning.

Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Clutch helper in win
Olofsson recorded a power-play assist in Friday's 5-4 win over the Devils.
Olofsson has power-play assists in back-to-back games, with his latest apple proving to be a critical one since the Devils ended up scoring a pair of unanswered goals in the third period and nearly flipped the script. While Buffalo's a longshot to make the playoffs, Olofsson's propensity for clutch moments shouldn't be overlooked; he's secured 11 game-winning goals in the past two seasons alone.
