  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Taking seat Monday

Flores is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cubs.

Flores had started at first base in each of the Giants' last five games, with three starts coming versus lefties and two coming versus right-handers. Though the Giants seem content to deploy Flores as their primary first baseman rather than a platoon bat while LaMonte Wade (hamstring) is on the injured list, Flores will nonetheless give way to rookie Trenton Brooks on Monday.

  • Sean Bouchard RF | COL

Rockies' Sean Bouchard: Starting rehab assignment

Bouchard (ankle) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Bouchard is less than two weeks removed from suffering a right ankle sprain but is ready to test things out in a game setting. He is eligible for activation at any time, but the Rockies could keep him at Albuquerque rather than retuning him to the major-league roster.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Might not need rehab assignment

Rodgers (hamstring) went through a full workout Monday at Coors Field and the Rockies are still deciding whether he needs a rehab assignment before being activated, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Rodgers resumed baseball activities a few days ago and it appears he's continued to progress without issue. He's eligible for activation from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, and while there's no indication he'll return on that date, it doesn't appear to have been ruled out. Adael Amador has been filling in for Rodgers at second base but is likely to be sent back to Double-A Hartford once Rodgers is ready.

  • Ryan Weathers SP | MIA

Marlins' Ryan Weathers: Asymptomatic but still shut down

Weathers (finger) is asymptomatic but has yet to resume a throwing program, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

The left-hander has been out since early June with a left index finger strain. Weathers will be reevaluated early next week, so while he is feeling better, it appears he won't be cleared to throw for at least another week. He'll need to ramp things back up at that point, so a return before the end of June looks to be out of the question.

  • Ian Gibaut RP | CIN

Reds' Ian Gibaut: Set for re-evaluation soon

Reds manager David Bell said Friday that Gibaut (forearm) is scheduled to meet with a doctor soon before the next step in his rehab process is decided, MLB.com reports.

If Gibaut gets clearance to resume baseball activities upon meeting with the doctor, Bell noted that the right-hander could be cleared to return from the 60-day injured list in as soon as six weeks. Gibaut had been shut down all season with a right forearm strain before undergoing anterior interosseous nerve release surgery May 9.

  • Angel Chivilli RP | COL

Rockies' Angel Chivilli: Back to Double-A

The Rockies optioned Chivilli to Double-A Hartford on Monday.

Chivilli received his second big-league call-up of the season June 3, and over his five appearances in the majors, he gave up five runs on eight hits while striking out two over 5.1 innings. He was sent back to Double-A to clear room on the 26-man active roster and in the bullpen for right-hander Jake Bird (elbow), who was reinstated from the 15-day injured list.

  • Ryan McMahon 3B | COL

Rockies' Ryan McMahon: Sitting out Monday

McMahon is out of the lineup for Monday's contest against the Dodgers.

The lefty-hitting McMahon is getting just his third day off of the season with a left-hander (James Paxton) on the mound for the Dodgers. Alan Trejo will step in at third base in place of McMahon, who has started to heat back up over the past week with seven hits -- including two home runs -- in his last 20 at-bats.

  • Jordan Lawlar SS | ARI

Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Out 4-to-6 weeks

Lawlar is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks after being diagnosed with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

Lawlar suffered the injury while legging out a triple for Triple-A Reno on Saturday. A Grade 1 strain is the least severe, but it's still going to cost the top prospect at least a month of action. Lawlar has played just 11 games this season, having previously missed time following surgery to repair ligament damage in his right thumb.

  • Josh Rogers RP | COL

Rockies' Josh Rogers: Lands on IL with shoulder strain

The Rockies placed Rogers on the 15-day injured list Monday with a left rotator cuff strain.

Over his five major-league appearances this season, the 29-year-old southpaw registered a 6.75 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 9.1 innings. With Rogers going on the IL and Angel Chivilli getting optioned to Double-A Hartford, the Rockies filled the open spots in the bullpen by activating Justin Lawrence (shoulder) and Jake Bird (elbow) from the IL.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Sitting out Monday

Blackmon is out of the lineup for Monday's game versus the Dodgers.

Blackmon has been scorching hot over the last 11 games in slashing .400/.460/.600, but he'll receive a day off as the Dodgers send lefty James Paxton to the bump. Hunter Goodman is replace Blackmon in the lineup at designated hitter.
