Panthers' Sam Bennett: Extends streaks with goal

Bennett scored a goal on three shots, doled out four hits and blocked two shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Oilers in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Bennett has a six-game point streak (six goals, two assists), and he's gotten on the scoresheet in nine of his last 10 contests. Bennett leads the league with 15 goals this postseason, and he's added seven assists, 66 shots on net, 103 hits, 46 PIM and a plus-6 rating over 22 appearances. Should the Panthers win the Stanley Cup, Bennett will finish at or near the top of the list for the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP.

  • Sam Reinhart C | FLA

Panthers' Sam Reinhart: Tallies in Game 5 victory

Reinhart scored a goal and added two PIM in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Oilers in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Reinhart has scored in three straight games after being held off the scoresheet in consecutive contests to open this series. The 29-year-old's tally restored a three-goal lead for the Panthers just 46 seconds after Connor McDavid got the Oilers on the board. Reinhart is up to seven goals, 19 points, 59 shots on net, 37 hits, 23 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating across 20 playoff appearances in a top-line role.

  • Panthers' Eetu Luostarinen: One of each in Saturday's win

Luostarinen scored an empty-net goal on two shots and added an assist in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Oilers in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Luostarinen set up Brad Marchand's game-winning tally at 5:12 of the third period before scoring the empty-netter to close out the win. The goal was Luostarinen's first since Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. He's been good against the Oilers with a goal and four assists over five contests, giving him 18 points, 33 shots on net, 84 hits, 25 blocked shots, 25 PIM and a plus-11 rating across 22 playoff outings.

  • Brad Marchand LW | FLA

Panthers' Brad Marchand: Tallies twice in Game 5 win

Marchand scored two goals on five shots and went plus-3 in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Oilers in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Marchand has lit up the Oilers for six goals on 22 shots over five games in this series. His latest two-goal effort, his second of the round, has him up to 10 goals, 20 points, 45 shots on net, 33 hits, 48 PIM and a plus-18 rating over 22 playoff appearances. He's done the bulk of his scoring at even strength -- of his 10 goals this postseason, just one has come on the power play, and one other was a shorthanded tally.

  • Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Grabs pivotal win in Game 5

Bobrovsky allowed two goals on 21 shots in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Oilers in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Bobrovsky was given a 2-0 lead to protect after one period, and unlike in Game 4, he was able to get the job done. It wasn't his best performance of the series, as the Oilers' 21 shots were their lowest in five games against the Panthers, though this is just the second contest that has been decided in regulation between the teams. Bobrovsky will have a chance to clinch the Stanley Cup for the second straight year in Game 6 on Tuesday in Florida.

  • Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Slated to start in Game 5

Bobrovsky is expected to start on the road in Game 5 against Edmonton on Saturday, per George Richards of Florida Hockey Now.

Bobrovsky has a 2-2 record, 2.83 GAA and .912 save percentage across four appearances against Edmonton in the series. He's also 14-7 with a 2.27 GAA and a .912 save percentage in 21 outings this postseason. Edmonton has posted 3.95 goals per game this playoffs, including 4.56 when playing at home.

  • Bruins' Victor Soderstrom: Inks one-year contract

Soderstrom signed a one-year, two-way contract with Boston on Saturday.

Soderstrom was traded from Chicago to the Bruins on Friday. The 24-year-old blueliner was selected with the 11th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by Arizona and played in 53 regular-season games with the Coyotes, scoring once and adding 10 assists. He signed a two-year contract with Brynas IF of the SHL in September, but he likely has an out to return to the NHL this season and could land a spot with Boston going into the 2025-26 campaign. Soderstrom had nine goals and 28 assists in 49 SHL regular-season games in 2024-25.

  • Oilers' Calvin Pickard: Facing Panthers in Game 5

Pickard will patrol the home crease in Game 5 against Florida on Saturday, according to Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels.

Pickard has posted a 7-0 record with a 2.69 GAA and an .896 save percentage through nine outings this postseason. He has made two straight relief appearances, stopping 29 of 31 shots. After Stuart Skinner got the hook in Game 4 on Thursday, Pickard made 22 saves on 23 shots in a 5-4 overtime victory. With the best-of-seven series tied at 2-2, the winner of Game 5 will hold a substantial advantage in the battle for the Stanley Cup.

  • Bokondji Imama LW | PIT

Penguins' Bokondji Imama: Agrees to one-year contract

Imama (biceps) inked a one-year, $775,000 contract with Pittsburgh on Friday.

Imama had a goal, 30 PIM and 45 hits in 16 appearances with Pittsburgh in 2024-25. He also recorded three goals, five points and 47 PIM across 24 regular-season outings with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Imama underwent biceps surgery in late March with an initial recovery timetable of 4-6 months. If everything goes as planned, Imama should be ready for the start of 2025-26, though he might miss some of training camp.

  • Blackhawks' Victor Soderstrom: From Windy City to Beantown

Soderstrom's NHL rights have been traded from the Blackhawks to the Bruins in exchange for Ryan Mast and a seventh-round pick, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports Friday.

Soderstrom did not play in the NHL last season, opting to play in the SHL with Brynas IF instead. During the 2024-25 campaign, the 24-year-old posted 37 points in 49 regular-season games. It remains to be seen if this move is a precursor for a return to North America with the Bruins organization, but it should be noted that he has one year left on a two-year deal with Brynas signed in September of 2024. Soderstrom has 11 points in 53 career NHL games.
