Brewers' Sal Frelick: Hitting bench Sunday
Frelick is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Frelick will get his first day off of May after he had started in each of the Brewers' last 10 games while slashing .176/.243/.235. Despite his recent struggles, Frelick still appears to be ahead of Jackson Chourio on the depth chart in the Milwaukee outfield. Chourio will fill in for Frelick in right field Sunday, but Chourio had been on the bench for each of the previous four games.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Stacking up hits
Frelic went 3-for-4 with an RBI, two runs and a walk in Tuesday's victory over the Reds.
Frelick dropped out of the leadoff spot after getting off to a slow start, but the move appears to have worked, as he recorded multiple hits in each of his last three games and reached based a total of 10 times over that span. Frelick has just one extra-base hit thus far, but after nine games his .324 batting average and .410 OBP over 39 PA are more than sufficient.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Drops in batting order
Frelick will bat sixth and start in center field Wednesday against the Twins.
Frelick had hit leadoff in each of the Brewers' last three games -- all against right-handed pitching -- but he went 1-for-13 with four strikeouts over that stretch and may have at least temporarily lost hold of the table-setting role. The Brewers will turn over the leadoff spot to hot-hitting rookie Jackson Chourio, who is slashing .375/.412/.438 in 17 plate appearances to begin his big-league career.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Will start in CF versus righties
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said in an interview Wednesday with 97.3 The Game Milwaukee that Frelick will start in center field versus right-handers while Garrett Mitchell (finger) opens the season on the injured list.
Frelick had been in line to see ample playing time at third base versus righties, but he's needed more now in the outfield. It's possible Frelick could still play some third base eventually, but fantasy managers might now have to wait a while for him to pick up eligibility at that position. Joey Ortiz likely profiles as the favorite for starts at third base to begin the season.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Could move back to outfield
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Monday that Frelick could move back to the outfield on a full-time basis following the injury to Garrett Mitchell (hand), Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Mitchell has been diagnosed with a fractured left hand and is likely to be sidelined for several weeks. The plan has been for Frelick to be used often at third base, but he could now return to his more familiar right field spot while Joey Ortiz and Andruw Monasterio get reps at the hot corner. Worth noting is Murphy intimated that this is just one of the options he's considering. Milwaukee could also give Blake Perkins more playing time in the outfield, and Joey Wiemer is a candidate to be recalled.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Option to bat leadoff
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Monday that Frelick and Garrett Mitchell (hand) are the team's most likely leadoff hitters against right-handed pitching, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Former leadoff man Christian Yelich is in line to bat third for Milwaukee. Frelick spent most of his time last season with the Brewers hitting cleanup, although he was at the top of the order eight times. He could be the club's leadoff hitter by default if Mitchell needs some down time with his hand injury.
