Hurricanes' Riley Stillman: On injured non-roster
Stillman (lower body) was placed on the injured non-roster list Monday.
Stillman has been dealing with a lower-body injury since late September, and he'll be unavailable to begin the regular season. Once he's healthy, it wouldn't be surprising to see him report to AHL Chicago. Over 47 appearances with AHL Rochester last year, he recorded two goals and six points.

Hurricanes' Riley Stillman: Absent from injury report
Stillman (lower body) was not listed among the injured players Tuesday ahead of training camp.
After going unqualified by the Sabres in the offseason, Stillman nabbed a two-way deal from the Hurricanes. The 26-year-old blueliner's best hope would be to snag the seventh defenseman spot during training camp, but he will face stiff competition for that role from Scott Morrow and Joakim Ryan. Even if Stillman is on the Opening Night roster, he almost certainly figures to split his time between the NHL and AHL this season.

Stillman has already logged NHL games with four different franchises in his career but spent the entirety of the 2023-24 season in the minors with AHL Rochester. While the 26-year-old blueliner should be on the list of call-ups during the season, he is unlikely to crack the Opening Night roster for the Hurricanes, especially after the organization brought in Shayne Gostisbehere and Sean Walker in free agency.
