Kraken's Chris Driedger: Starting against Rangers
Driedger will guard the road goal Tuesday against the Rangers, per Kate Shefte of The Seattle Times. Driedger, who will make his second NHL start of the season, will get the second half of Seattle's back-to-back after Joey Daccord played in Monday's 3-0 loss to Pittsburgh. The 29-year-old Driedger made 37 saves in a 2-1 win over Calgary on Dec. 27 in his first NHL outing of 2023-24. The Rangers rank 14th in the league this campaign with 3.26 goals per contest.... Kraken's Chris Driedger: Stellar in win
Driedger stopped 37 of 38 shots in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Flames. Driedger did everything asked of him and then some, quieting the Flames' offense. The 29-year-old hadn't played an NHL game since May 1, 2022, missing a large chunk of that time with an ACL injury. Joey Daccord has been excellent with Philipp Grubauer (lower body) out, but Driedger proved he can provide solid outings too. It's unclear how the Kraken's workload will be distributed going forward, with their next game coming back at home versus the Flyers on Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Chris Driedger: Recalled Sunday
Driedger was recalled from AHL Coachella Valley on Sunday, per Scott Malone of Root Sports. Driedger figures to assume the backup job in Seattle behind Joey Daccord after Philipp Grubauer (lower body) was added to IR. The 29-year-old Driedger last played in the NHL in the 2021-22 season, when he went 9-14-1 with an .899 save percentage.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Chris Driedger: Dropped to AHL
Driedger was reassigned to AHL Coachella Valley on Saturday. Driedger has served as Joey Daccord's backup for the last two games due to the absence of Philipp Grubauer (undisclosed). Driedger's demotion probably means that Grubauer will be available for Tuesday's contest against Chicago.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Chris Driedger: Surfaces on waivers
Driedger was put on waivers Saturday for the purpose of sending him to AHL Coachella Valley. Driedger posted a 9-4-0 record with a 2.61 GAA and a .908 save percentage in 14 AHL outings last season. Kraken's Chris Driedger: Starting season finale
Driedger will patrol the crease during Sunday's road matchup with Winnipeg, Ken Wiebe of Sportsnet reports. Driedger was unbeatable in his last start Friday against San Jose, stopping all 24 shots he faced en route to a 3-0 shutout victory. He'll try to end the season with a bang by securing his 10th win of the year in a road matchup with a hot Jets team that's won three straight contests.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Chris Driedger: In net against Sharks
Driedger will start Friday's game against the Sharks, Mike Benton of the Seattle Kraken Audio Network reports. This is the last game of the season for the majority of the league, including the Sharks, but Seattle has one more game on the schedule Sunday against the Jets. Driedger will get the nod for this clash between imposing aquatic creatures, and he brings an 8-13-1 record, 3.05 GAA and .897 save percentage into Friday's home game.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Chris Driedger: Three quick goals turn table
Driedger made 27 saves in a 3-2 loss to Dallas on Saturday. His mates staked him to a 2-0 lead heading into the second period, but three goals in a 4:41 span of the second flipped the table on Driedger and the Kraken. He's actually 3-4-0 in his last seven starts and he's allowed 2.3 goals per game over than span. Now, if only Driedger's teammates could pick up the scoring to help him.... See More ... See Less -

Driedger allowed four goals on 30 shots in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Flames. The fifth goal was an empty-netter. Driedger did well through two periods, but the Flames took over in the third. It was the first time in his last five outings he gave up four goals -- he's been solid lately, but wins remain hard to come by for Kraken netminders. The 27-year-old is down to 7-12-1 with a 3.10 GAA and an .898 save percentage in 23 appearances. The Kraken open a three-game home stand Saturday against the Devils after their game in Winnipeg, originally scheduled for Wednesday, was postponed to May 1 due to adverse weather.... See More ... Kraken's Chris Driedger: Takes loss Wednesday
Driedger allowed three goals on 35 shots in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Blues. The fourth goal was an empty-netter. Driedger didn't get much help from his teammates this time out, but he's still won two of his last four starts with just seven goals allowed in that span. The 27-year-old has been better than Philipp Grubauer lately, and he's starting to get the playing time to show it. Driedger's at 7-11-1 with a 3.05 GAA and an .899 save percentage through 22 starts. It'll likely be Grubauer in goal Thursday versus the Blackhawks.... See More ... See Less -
