  • Giants' Tim Boyle: Emergency QB for Week 18

Boyle (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Boyle will serve as the Giants' third-string emergency quarterback Sunday behind starter Drew Lock and backup Tommy DeVito. Boyle will only be allowed to see the field if both Lock and DeVito were to exit the game due to injury, illness or ejection.

  • Giants' Tim Boyle: Emergency QB Sunday

Boyle (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. The third quarterback would need starter Drew Lock and backup Tommy DeVito to get injured, sick or ejected to be able to enter the contest. Boyle has appeared in one game since signing with the Giants in November, and that came when Lock was out with an injury and DeVito had to exit due to a concussion.

  • Giants' Tim Boyle: Working as emergency QB vs. ATL

Boyle (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Falcons and will serve as New York's emergency third quarterback, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Boyle was active for last Sunday's loss to Baltimore and played all of the second half due to Tommy DeVito exiting with a concussion. However, Boyle has since cleared the NFL's five-step protocol, and Drew Lock is returning to start after missing last Sunday due to injury, so Boyle will be pushed back to the emergency QB role. He'll be able to enter Sunday's game only if both Lock and DeVito are unable to play due to injury, illness or ejection.

  • Giants' Tim Boyle: Week 16 Waiver Priority List

Good luck trusting a Giants quarterback, but Boyle could start in Week 16 at Atlanta if Drew Lock (heel) and Tommy DeVito (concussion) are out. Boyle came on for DeVito against Baltimore in Week 15 and was 12-of-24 passing for 123 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. In deeper Superflex and two-quarterback leagues, you might need Boyle, and the Falcons have allowed six of the past eight opposing quarterbacks to score at least 21.8 Fantasy points.

  • Giants' Tim Boyle: Fills in following DeVito exit

Boyle entered Sunday's 35-14 loss to the Ravens on Sunday with 27 seconds remaining in the second quarter for Tommy DeVito (concussion) and completed 12 of 24 passes for 123 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also rushed once for minus-1 yard. Boyle took a knee on his first play from scrimmage to end the first half and then played the entirety of the last two quarters. Considering the circumstances, Boyle was serviceable, throwing a 23-yard touchdown pass to Malik Nabers in the fourth quarter along the way. The journeyman signal-caller could conceivably be called on to start a Week 16 road matchup against the Falcons if both DeVito and Drew Lock (heel) are unavailable.

  • Giants' Tim Boyle: Signed from practice squad

Boyle has been signed from the practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's game against the Ravens, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Boyle signed with the Giants' practice squad Tuesday, and this move suggests he'll operate as the team's emergency quarterback Sunday behind Drew Lock (heel/left elbow) and Tommy DeVito. Boyle could be promoted to a backup role in case Lock is unable to go Sunday, but he'd need an injury to DeVito to have a shot at seeing the field against Baltimore.

  • Tim Boyle: Re-signs to practice squad

Boyle signed to the Giants' practice squad Tuesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Boyle signed to the Giants' practice squad in November before moving up to the active roster to serve as the third quarterback behind Tommy DeVito and Drew Lock. Boyle was waived on Saturday ahead of New York's 14-11 loss to the Saints on Sunday, but Lock needed X-rays for an undisclosed injury after the defeat. New York coach Brian Daboll said Lock would remain the starter if he's healthy enough to go next Sunday against the Ravens, per Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record.

  • Tim Boyle: Let go by Big Blue

The Giants waived Boyle on Saturday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Boyle was signed to the Giants' 53-man roster Nov. 23 to serve as the No. 3 quarterback behind Tommy DeVito and Drew Lock. Assuming he clears waivers, Boyle will look to catch on with a team in need of a practice squad quarterback, though he could opt to remain with the Giants.

  • Giants' Tim Boyle: Signed to 53

Boyle was signed to the Giants' 53-man roster Saturday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports. The Giants could have used multiple practice-squad elevations with Boyle, but the team evidently wanted to prioritize its quarterback No. 3. Tommy DeVito will start Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers, with veteran Drew Lock slated to be his backup.

  • Tim Boyle: Signs with G-Men

The Giants signed Boyle to their practice squad Tuesday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports. It appears the Giants are doing everything they can to avoid playing Daniel Jones again this season, even in an emergency, Stapleton believes. Since announcing Jones' benching on Monday, the Giants have said Tommy DeVito will be the starter the remainder of the season, with Boyle signed to the practice squad. Drew Lock is expected to serve as DeVito's backup, and Jones will likely be inactive on game days. Jones has essentially become the team's QB4.

  • Tim Boyle: Bumped back down

Boyle reverted to the Dolphins' practice squad Monday. Boyle was elevated to the active roster for Sunday's game against the Patriots, and operated as Tyler Huntley's backup but never got on the field.

  • Dolphins' Tim Boyle: Back with Miami

The Dolphins signed Boyle to the practice squad and elevated him to the active roster Saturday. Boyle was released by the Dolphins on Friday, but as a vested veteran, he can rejoin the practice squad and be elevated immediately. He served as Miami's backup quarterback for Week 4 against the Titans due to Skylar Thompson (ribs) being inactive. Thompson is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots, but if he's unable to suit up, Boyle will once again serve as the No. 2 quarterback behind Tyler Huntley.

  • Tim Boyle: Let go by Miami

Boyle was released by the Dolphins on Friday. Boyle's release suggests the Dolphins are optimistic that Skylar Thompson (ribs) will be available to back up Tyler Huntley against the Patriots on Sunday, though Thompson officially is listed as questionable. It's possible that Miami intends to quickly sign Boyle to the practice squad so he can be available as the emergency third quarterback this weekend.

  • Dolphins' Tim Boyle: Newly minted backup

Boyle is set to be the backup to newly announced starter Tyler Huntley ahead of Monday's primetime matchup against the Titans, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Boyle didn't do much in replacement of the injured Skylar Thompson (ribs) during the Dolphins' Week 3 loss to the Seahawks, completing seven of his 13 passes for 79 yards over effectively two quarters. However, with Thompson listed as questionable in advance of Monday's contest and Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) on IR, Boyle is slated to work as Huntley's primary backup versus Tennessee.

  • Tim Boyle: Added to Dolphins' practice squad

Boyle signed with Miami's practice squad Thursday. Boyle was released by the Texans on Tuesday after Houston opted to keep C.J. Stroud and Davis Mills as the only two quarterbacks on the 53-man roster. Boyle will now serve as the Dolphins' practice squad quarterback and operate as the emergency option behind Tua Tagovailoa and Skylar Thompson. Boyle has been a journeyman quarterback for his career, having appeared in 20 regular-season games with four different teams over the last five years.

  • Texans' Tim Boyle: Third QB used Friday

Boyle completed four of eight attempts for 28 yards in Friday's 20-12 preseason win over Pittsburgh. Boyle was the third quarterback used following C.J. Stroud and Davis Mills. That he was used ahead of the 36-year-old Case Keenum likely doesn't suggest a change in the depth chart.

  • Texans' Tim Boyle: Back at practice

Boyle returned to practice Thursday after receiving stitches on his finger last week, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Boyle missed just over a week of OTAs while recovering from this injury. The 29-year-old quarterback is vying for a spot on the 53-man roster as a backup to C.J. Stroud, but he faces a tough test with Davis Mills and Case Keenum also on the roster.

  • Jets' Tim Boyle: Fails to ignite offense in start

Boyle completed 27 of 38 passes for 179 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Friday's 34-13 loss to the Dolphins. He added two yards on two rushing attempts. Boyle mustered just 35 passing yards in the first half, which he capped with a Hail Mary attempt that resulted in a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown, stunting the momentum the Jets built up from a pick-six of their own less than a minute earlier. He finally led the offense into Miami territory for the first time in the fourth quarter, only to throw a red-zone interception. On the next drive, Boyle threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson. Prior to bolstering his stats with the game out of hand, Boyle looked even worse than Zach Wilson had prior to Wilson's benching, so perhaps Wilson or Trevor Siemian could get an opportunity to play in Week 13 against the Falcons while Aaron Rodgers remains sidelined by a torn Achilles. According to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com, head coach Robert Saleh was non-committal on a Week 13 starting quarterback in his postgame press conference Friday.

  • Jets' Tim Boyle: In contention to start Week 12

Boyle completed seven of 14 passes for 33 yards and one interception while rushing once for one yard after replacing the benched Zach Wilson in the second half of Sunday's 32-6 loss to the Bills. Coach Robert Saleh said after the loss that he's undecided on whether Boyle or Wilson will start against the Dolphins on Friday. The Jets will spend the next few days trying to figure out their Week 12 starter, though Boyle didn't help his case with a putrid performance in relief of the ineffective Wilson, who threw for 81 yards, one touchdown and one interception prior to being benched. Neither quarterback appears likely to jump-start the Jets' sputtering offense on Black Friday against Miami, while Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) isn't particularly close to returning.

  • Tim Boyle: In line for elevation

The Jets are expected to elevate Boyle for Sunday's game at Dallas, Ethan B. Greenberg of the team's official site reports. Working on a short week in the wake of Aaron Rodgers' torn left Achilles, New York will stay in-house for the direct backup to Zach Wilson in his first start of the campaign. Thereafter, it seems likely the team will add a veteran quarterback at some point, but acclimation to the system may mean Boyle remains the No. 2 option for at least the next handful of games.
