Oilers' Darnell Nurse: Slated to play in Game 3
Nurse (hip) is expected to play in Game 3 against Florida on Thursday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports Wednesday.
Nurse was initially questionable after sustaining a hip injury during Monday's 4-1 loss to the Panthers, and that concern only grew after he missed Wednesday's practice, per Reid Wilkins of 630 CHED. However, coach Kris Knoblauch expects the 29-year-old Nurse to be available Thursday. Nurse has struggled in the 2024 playoffs, recording just three assists and posting a terrible minus-15 rating over 20 appearances.

Oilers' Darnell Nurse: Game 3 status uncertain
Nurse, who reportedly suffered a hip injury in Game 2 on Monday, is still being evaluated. Coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters, "Haven't spoken to our medical staff. I'll be seeing them in about 15 minutes, and I'll get their report," per Tracey Myers of NHL.com.
Nurse offered little in the way of fantasy impact in Game 2, posting zero shots, zero hits and just one block in his limited 4:20 of ice time. If the veteran blueliner can't go Thursday for Game 3, Cody Ceci figures to rejoin the lineup after serving as a healthy scratch Monday.

Oilers' Darnell Nurse: Big impact in Game 4 win
Nurse logged an assist, 12 hits and three blocked shots in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Stars in Game 4.
Nurse has been the target of some ire for his poor play in the playoffs, and he got off to an ugly start in this game. He was on the ice for both of the Stars' first-period tallies, including one that banked into the net off his body. Nurse was able to rebound, picking up a helper on a Ryan McLeod goal, and he followed up with a huge physical performance for the rest of the game. Nurse has just three assists with an ugly minus-12 rating through 16 playoff contests, but he's added 35 hits, 37 blocked shots and 31 shots on net while playing in a top-four role. That non-scoring production still gives him a path to relevance in DFS formats.
