Kristian Campbell 2B | BOS
Red Sox's Kristian Campbell: On bench for second straight game
Campbell is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.
After slashing just .085/.104/.149 to begin May, Campbell was held out of the lineup for Sunday's 10-4 loss to Atlanta. The rookie will remain on the bench for Monday's series opener, but the Red Sox haven't indicated that Campbell is nursing any sort of injury. Assuming he's healthy, Campbell should remain the Red Sox's top second baseman, though he recently began taking reps at first base and could be an option at that position as Boston seeks a more permanent replacement for Triston Casas (knee), who is out for the season.

David Hamilton 2B | BOS
Red Sox's David Hamilton: Steals base in loss
Hamilton started at second base and went 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base in Sunday's 10-4 loss to Atlanta.
Hamilton got the start at second base with a slumping Kristian Campbell (.078 in last 13 games) getting a breather. Hamilton doesn't start often but has made an impact with eight steals in a limited role (58 at-bats). With news that Campbell has begun taking reps at first base, an opening could eventually emerge for Hamilton, who has shaken off an early season slump. He's batting .393 (11-for-28) with six steals in 12 games during the month of May.

Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Laces four hits in loss

Overall, the 28-year-old is slashing .330/.387/.466 with 25 runs scored and 21 RBI through 195 plate appearances.

Marlins' Otto Lopez: Slugs homer in return
Lopez went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Sunday's 5-1 victory over the Rays.
The 26-year-old made his first appearance since May 2 after being activated from the injured list for an ankle injury before the contest. Lopez blasted a 401-foot home run off Tampa Bay starter Shane Baz in the fourth inning to give Miami a 3-1 lead. Lopez is now slashing .230/.293/.354 with three homers and steals apiece through 123 plate appearances. He appears set to re-establish his role as the Marlins' everyday second baseman.

Edman (ankle) has been activated from the 10-day injured list and will bat sixth and play center field Sunday against the Angels, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

He's finally healthy enough to rejoin the active roster and immediately joins the starting nine. Edman slashed .252/.295/.523 with eight home runs in 122 plate appearances before the injury. The Dodgers designated Chris Taylor for assignment in a corresponding move.
